BOARDING LIFE

After a day of lessons, they return to their boarding houses with their friends to start their afternoon and evening routine. That may include attending a co-curricular club, a music, drama or dance rehearsal, or a sports match or practice in or around the sports centre. For those with any spare time, there is usually a casual game of one sort or another taking place in the immediate vicinity of the house, under the watchful eye of house staff.

Supper is eaten in the boarding houses in the early evening before a supervised homework session from 7pm to 8.30pm. Being surrounded by others who are also hard at work and having the support of an academic Tutor during this period helps to make the completion of homework easier. Older students are expected to continue their studies later in the evening to complete their work.
The later evening provides an enjoyable finish to the day, with time for students to gather with their housemates to socialise and relax, either in the common rooms or the immediate vicinity of their boarding houses, before heading to bed in line with their year-group schedule.

At weekends, the boarding houses are even livelier. All boarders have organised activities on Saturday morning and they can join trips or make use of the school’s facilities throughout the weekend. Film nights and other communal activities are a much-valued aspect of Saturday evening, before a perhaps less-hectic Sunday, providing time to prepare for the new week.

Full boarding is available to any student who wishes to board fully at school throughout the term. These boarders enjoy the full weekend programme with their housemates in their boarding house.
The weekend programme involves regular trips off campus as well as the chance to take advantage of the on-campus facilities throughout Saturday and Sunday.
Weekly boarding is an option for students who live in and around Bengaluru and who wish to take advantage of all the opportunities provided by our boarding programme, whilst returning home to their families at weekend.
These students start their boarding week on Sunday evening, so that they are on site and ready to learn on Monday morning. They stay in their boarding houses each night through the week, heading home on Friday evening after school or on Saturday morning after activities.
