WORKING WITH HARROW
We are in the formative years of an exhilarating journey and seeking to recruit academic leaders and teachers with a desire to deliver outstanding education to globally minded young pupils, in a state-of-the-art campus and with the support of two outstanding educational organisations. icon
Harrow International School

We particularly hope to attract those who channel a pioneering spirit and who are enthused by the prospect of playing a role in the further development of an outstanding new school in a vibrant, international city. Harrow Bengaluru is well on the way to becoming one of the most sought-after schools in India and we seek exceptional faculty and other staff to help us on this mission.

We benefit from wonderful facilities, with over 12,000 square metres of academic buildings within the secondary school alone, providing spacious, well-equipped classrooms and multiple break-out spaces to encourage collaboration and independent learning.

Alongside this, we also enjoy wonderful co-curricular spaces: outstanding sports facilities, including an Olympic-size 50m swimming pool, a 4,500m2 sports hall, a full-size FIFA-standard astroturf football pitch and a 400m running track; a 1,800 square metres auditorium a seating capacity of 450 for the performing arts; an extensive music wing with performance halls and numerous practice rooms; as well as dedicated areas for fine art, sculpture, dance and drama.

In August 2025, our primary school opened, extending the opportunity of a Harrow education to younger children, from age 5 onwards. The primary school shares access to these wonderful facilities, as well as occupying a dedicated wing within the main school providing state- of- the- art learning spaces for groups from Upper Kindergarten (UK Year 1) to Grade 5 (UK Year 6).

However, it is not so much the facilities but the atmosphere that marks out our school - an atmosphere in which the leaders of tomorrow are molded through an emphasis on creative thinking, participation, service to others, responsibility, trust, community-mindedness, and teamwork. We achieve this through a focus on the values of a Harrow education: Courage, Honour, Humility and Fellowship. These values are supported by the strength of our school community, which is built around a strong House system and a large secondary school boarding community, in turn yielding a strong sense of belonging and confidence amongst our students.

Our location, on the edge of Bengaluru and in close proximity to the international airport, allows us the space to create such a school but also ensures a wonderful year-round climate and a proximity to all the modern shopping, eating and leisure opportunities of a thriving and modern Indian ‘Garden City’.

LIVING IN BENGALURU
Bengaluru (formerly Bangalore) is one of India’s largest cities, with a population of around eight million people. icon

Lying in the south-east corner of Karnataka state, it is one of fastest growing and wealthiest parts of the country, offering, according to Lonely Planet, “a benevolent climate, a modern metro system, and a burgeoning drinking, dining and shopping scene”. Often referred to as India’s ‘Garden City’, Bengaluru benefits from numerous local scenic spots including the Lalbagh Botanical Garden (laid out in the 18th century), Cubbon Park, Hesaraghatta Lake and Chamaraja Lake Reservoir.

The reference to a benevolent climate reflects the consistency of the temperatures which arise from the city’s elevation at 950m above sea level. Daily maximums rarely rise above 35°C and rarely fall below 25°C with plenty of sunshine throughout the year.

Our campus has been constructed on a large greenfield site to the north of the city centre, near to the international airport and very close to the main ring road. It therefore benefits from being away from the busy central area, yet close enough to be easily accessible to the city, with both traditional Indian and modern global attractions within a stone’s throw. Both the brand-new JW Marriott Hotel and the Prestige Golfshire Resort are situated within a few miles, as is the Devanahalli Fort, which was originally built in 1501.

WELLBEING
Harrow International School Bengaluru takes its responsibility seriously to support the wellbeing of its employees, recognising that our staff can best support our students only if they are flourishing themselves. icon

The following are just some of the initiatives to support staff wellbeing

  • Staff enjoy access to school facilities for their own recreation. This will include the swimming pool, squash courts, the fitness suite and other sporting facilities.
  • Staff courses are offered for those wishing to develop their recreational skills in areas such as the arts and languages.
  • Staff are provided with meals in the main school dining room without charge during term time.
  • International staff are provided with well-presented accommodation either on or close to the campus, as well as comprehensive health insurance to ensure they can gain access to high quality medical support when needed.
  • The staff wellbeing committee drives forward wellbeing initiatives and ensures that all members of staff have a pathway to gain support as and when needed.

A comprehensive programme for staff induction ensures that new staff are well prepared for their roles, have a complete knowledge of the systems for day-to-day living and know where they can turn to when in need of particular assistance.
