Life at Harrow Bengaluru extends well beyond a regular school day, with super-curricular and extra-curricular activities taking place in the mornings, evenings and at weekends. Unconstrained by travel time, boarders really make the most of living at school during term time.
The boarding houses provide rich opportunities for students to build deep and lasting friendships with others from a wide range of backgrounds. The community in boarding houses is particularly strong, as students live with each other through the school week, experiencing the highs and lows of the term together. The boarding houses are located in the middle of our campus, allowing boarders easy access to all school facilities.
Boarders benefit from formal, supervised homework time during the evening, to ensure that studies are completed effectively and to a high standard. Tutors in the boarding houses are in many cases the students’ subject teachers, meaning boarders can seek advice on their work as they complete their tasks.

Most importantly, boarding allows our students to become part of a close-knit “second family” and to thrive in their school lives alongside their friends in a happy, busy and secure community.
Boarding also helps to develop the character qualities that are an important part of a Harrow education. The challenges of living with one’s peers teach students to manage their friendships, whilst the vertical nature of Harrow Bengaluru’s boarding houses (students from a variety of year groups live together in the same house) provide older students with opportunities for caring leadership.
